The Landmark Tower is the landmark in the Minato Mirai Area, Yokohama. If you take the east exit of JR Sakuragi-Cho Station, you will see a tall building in front of you. This is the Landmark Tower.

It opened in 1993. The height of the Landmark Tower is 296.33 meters and it was the tallest building in Japan when the Landmark Tower was built. Now, it is the second tallest building after Abeno-Harukas in Osaka. The height of Abeno-Harkas is 300 meters and the difference is just 3.67 meters.

The Minato Mirai Area has been developed since 1985 and has been reborn. This area is the most modern area and is very popular. More than 80 million people and more than 11 million sightseers visit this area each year.

There used to be a couple of docks of the Yokohama Dock Company, built in 1898. The dock was built to conduct maintenance of ships which visited Yokohama for trading between foreign countries and Japan in the Meiji Age (1868 - 1912) .

The second dock of the Yokohama Dock Company remains at the foot of the Landmark Tower.
